I spoke with the club President today regarding the last update and the questions that were asked of the Insurance company and the policy doesn't provide the coverage that is required by our club and land owners so that is a no go. We are running out of options but haven't given up yet. The club is still waiting to hear from a couple of other leads that we have out there but it's not looking good. He has also reached out to our State Representative Dan Stec and Washington County. We are doing everything that we can to keep things rolling but are running short on our options. Hopefully we will have some better news this coming Monday at the club meeting. Remember, the meetings are open to everyone so if you have suggestions or a possible solution to our crisis attend the meeting. There is one other thing we talked about and that is having an attorney look at the law that is on the books that covers land owners who open their property to the public for atv, snowmobile, horse back riding and other activities to see if the club needs this coverage that no company wants to provide the club. Again to get a clear picture of what is happening, attend the upcoming meeting.

Hello everyone, hope all are doing well. I received the following update regarding our new insurance policy on Sunday but wasn't able to address it until now.

It appears that there were a couple of question about the policy that needed to be answered before it could be approved.

  • Are the off-premises activities of ATV’s & Side by Sides covered under this policy?  If no, Would the policy defend the Club if a lawsuit is received

  • What is Exclusion ( Athletic Participants) Description of Operations: Any/All Athletic Activities – Does this exclude all exposures of the ATV”s & Side by Sides? And does this mean there would be no defense coverage because of the exclusion

We are hoping to get a reply in the next couple of days. Hope and pray that this comes together for the club.

Just wanted to give another update, we have three companies trying to come up with something for us however there is only one company that I think will actually be able to. They recently insured Highmarket club and Saint Lawerence county, which are both in NY. They are preparing a detailed quote for us to review and already negotiated the price per landowner down by 50%. because we have so many. I have high hopes and we should have a answer this week, we realize most of the prime riding season has gone by and we have been discussing what we can do to be fair with dues for not being able to ride. If we can not get insurance there will be 100% refund, if we are able to get insurance we will figure out something to be fair with everyone.

Thank you

Jon W.
